I sold a Fully Restored 1992 Trans Am Converted into KITT from Knight Rider for $11,750.00 in October. It did not even have the interior from the show. But i do understand about the prices though. I am now selling a restored 1991 Trans Am Convertible, 1 of 550 made by ASC Mclaren fro $7,000.00. Point being that people will pay more for something Unique, like KITT, no matter what year it is.
And another point. These newer cars that are going for big money now will only lose value, muscle cars retain. Would you rather have a 1998 BMW 540 or a 1998 Trans Am with a Ls-1, That is the question. And nowadays Muscle Cars are priced between 30-80 grand, a big change from previous years. So with that said i am sure that all Camaro's, Mustang's, TA/s, Vette's etc, will only gain value in years to come. And not too mention older cars are way easier to work on, parts cost less, and they don't make them like they used too.
