My car books for 14 grand and the rod bearings went. I shut it down before any internal damge was done. Get and expensive car really cheap, 5 - 6 grand or trade for something driveable, check my listings. If I don't get a car soon I will be rebuilding this.

Have you got it apart to see if there is any Internal Damage? Damage can be made even before you "Hear" it. Seen it myself to many times.

I understand that, I have too. Shut it down as soon as I heard it tapping, dropped oilpan and plate. No debris, seen bad bearing , its in the rear. Actually reinstalling the oilpan and thinking of just doing the rod bearings and clling it a day.

If it was up to me I would just replace the engine because its easy. Take the radiator, inner bumper and bumper cover off and these vqs slide right out. See a bunch of low mile engines on ebay for 700-1500. You can also buy a completely rebuilt vq off ebay for 1750 dollars, that seems like the best roate for the $$$. Rebuilding these are a job, atleast the core on this is good and its good to keep as an extra. But if it was up to me id just get a rebuilt one and call it a day.
