Ok so I have a question about these multiple listings. I know how much its frowned upon here. But why is it that when you turn one in or "report" one it takes a long time for it to be removed? Do the admins remove the cloned listings or do the posters remove them? I'm just curious on how this process is..

Somewhat complex answer, good question though. i personally dig it when someone is interested enough to ask how things work. It shows they care about the site.

Umm lets see. Im almost sure someone else will come along a write an essay about it explaining more indepth but ill try and give an overview.

When you report a listing you choose a reason for reporting and give a brief description of why you are submitting it for review. It goes into a list and people with admin abilities review the list and the reason it was submitted. Whether or not the person with admin ablities removes it themselves is a discretionary thing. it all depends on the reason it was reported. Like say there is a pornographic picture in the ad, personally I would remove the picture myself and issue a warning to the person and a breif explaination of the problem. If its an obvious scam I would remove the ad as well. If the ad has alot of cursing in the description I would ask the person to kindly reword the ad so it is not offensive to others because I wouldnt want to rewrite someones ad for them...see what I mean. Its a situational thing. WE remove alot of multiple listings as well as other things like correcting ads with fake prices such as 999,999 and ads that are obviously priced to place a listing higher on the list. WE also make sure lisitings are in the correct category....like a street bike does not go in custom built motorcycles because suzuki did not build the hayabusa just for you it was mass produced so it is instead a customIZED motorcycle as opposed to one that you chose all the parts for and had a shop bulid for you.

What im trying to say is that there is alot going on that most people dont know about and it takes a good bit of time. The reported ad's are reviewied as quickly as possible because your input is very important to Mautofied and every reported ad is one less we have to find ourselves which is helpful and appreciated.

If you find that you are in need of more immediate help I am usually not hard to find so feel free to contact me if you feel that something needs immediate attention or you have a question about something.

wow that sounds like a pretty hectic job, well more time consuming. Tell you personally it gets pretty aggravating when you surf on here and find some whack job that thinks he can get away with posting 10 of the same thing. When others actually pay their dues.

We were having some issues with the "Report Abuse" link. For some reason the abuse messages weren't getting to me. It is now fixed so report them all you like. I usually take care of those within 24 hours. I have been receiving some abuse messages that I can't do anything about. I would like to respond directly to the person reporting them and explain why I can't but the abuse reporting messages are anonymous. For instance earlier today I got a complaint about a listing and here is what it said.

1980 Porsche 924 turbo
Asking Price: $900 - Possible Trade
Expires on: 6/9/2010 (30 days)
Seller: jacob86
Abuse Type: Listing is a SCAM

Abuse Message:
first said key was lost in the death of someone and now it something totally different

I can't lock a listing because of "he said she said" as there is no way to verify what was said to who or why. I'm not even gonna try. Sorry. You can vent your frustration in the Brawl Room and warn others if you think a person is being dishonest with you. Here I have an example of a legitimate complaint.

2003 Lamborghini Murcielago
Asking Price: $23,000 - Possible Trade
Expires on: 6/9/2010 (30 days)
Seller: Stixx
Abuse Type: Listing is a SCAM

Abuse Message:
lambo for 23k?

Yeah right. A 2003 Lambo for $23,000? A tune-up for that car alone probably costs that much. Not only did that guy get this listing locked, I locked him out of his account too. I don't mess around with people that want to play games on here and do stupid stuff. Love me or hate me, my job is to make sure that everyone on our site has a chance of showing their ride to the world and hopefully making a successful sale or trade. If you are one of our members that actually pays for some extras for your listing, I'm the guy who makes sure that you get what you pay for by removing the double posts when you pay for Re-Lists, or the listings with multiple pictures in one when you pay for multiple pics, and the list goes on and on. If we all work together to keep our site clean of all the garbage out there that plagues most of the other sites on the internet that have a similar business model, we can guarantee our place at the top as the best of the best internet communities to buy/sell/trade your vehicles and parts.
