i'm in the process of trading my truck straight up for another guys truck, i live in Tennessee, he lives in Ohio, now i've traded 4 vehicles already and i know i don't have to pay any sales tax here in Tennessee, 3 of the 4 vehicles i traded for came out of different states...KY, AL, GA...but the guy in Ohio say that his notary told him that they would appraise the vehicle and then make him pay sales tax...anyone from Ohio want to chime in and give some info? he just doesn't want to have to pay alot of sales tax and i can understand that...looks like you wouldn't have to pay any kind of sales tax since there is no money involved, all i've ever had to pay was the fee to transfer my tags, it was like $15 at the most
